Meet the Ventura Team Behind Birchbark Roofing Ventura

Roofing is a people business. The crew you see on your property matters as much as the shingle you choose. At Birchbark Roofing Ventura, our team is made up of local Ventura roofers who know this coastline’s wind patterns, the way salt air eats at flashing, and which streets in Midtown still carry original 1960s shake. Every technician is background-checked, uniformed, and trained on the same standard: written price before work starts, shoe covers at the door, and a clean-up photograph before we leave. Our People

Miguel A. – Lead Technician

Miguel has spent 14 years on Ventura County roofs, most of it focused on leak forensics and repair. He’s GAF certified through the manufacturer’s training program and handles the complicated work: valley intersections, chimney flashing, and roof-to-wall transitions on older Midtown and College Area homes. If a roof has leaked more than once, Miguel is usually the one who finds why. Off the clock, he restores a 1972 Chevy C10 and will talk your ear off about carburetors if you let him.

Sarah T. – Service Coordinator

Sarah is the voice on the phone when you call Birchbark Roofing Ventura. She’s been with the Cedarwell family of roofing companies for six years and knows the difference between an emergency tarp situation and a quote request that can wait for daylight. Sarah schedules every estimate, tracks material deliveries from GAF, CertainTeed, and Owens Corning, and makes sure your written price is in your hands before any crew shows up. She keeps a laminated tide chart on her desk, mostly because her weekends are spent paddleboarding out of Channel Islands Harbor.

Danny R. – Senior Installer

Danny has installed residential roofing in Ventura since 2011 and specializes in full tear-offs and replacements. He’s certified by CertainTeed and works with IKO, Atlas, and Tamko systems as well. Contractors and inspectors around town know Danny because he leaves a job site cleaner than he found it, down to the magnet sweep for stray nails in the driveway. He grew up in Saticoy and still lives there. On Saturdays he coaches his daughter’s AYSO team and reportedly runs a very disciplined snack rotation.

Carlos F. – Apprentice

Carlos joined the team two seasons ago after working residential construction in Oxnard. He’s in the middle of his installer training path and spends most days working beside Miguel and Danny on tear-offs, underlayment, and flashing detail. Carlos handles the ground game, too: staging materials, laying drop cloths through hallways, and making sure the work path stays clean from front door to ladder. Ask him about any fishing spot between Emma Wood and Mugu Rock. He knows them all and will tell you which ones are overrated.
